Texas Counties Deliver – learn how county government serves you
Hotel Occupancy Tax Information

In 2010, Washington County elected to charge a 7 % Hotel Occupancy Tax (which includes short-term rentals).  This tax is collected quarterly.  The County handles everything outside the City limits (the City handles everything in the City limits).  The County uses MUNIrevs/GovOS to handle online payments.  These taxes are used to fund specific tourism related expenses.  All compliant short-term rentals are registered with the Chamber of Commerce and the State of Texas to help promote these properties.
